The Horstmann Technique
This cutting edge therapy is unique in that it combines the use of energy points and gentle, passive joint motion to release unresolved negative experiences and emotions from the cellular memory. If these issues are old, they're likely held in the pelvic region, and if current, held in the neck and sholders. They result in physical problems, such as aches, pains or illness, and/or physcological patterns, such as stress, overeating, relationship issues, etc. Because these experiences and patterns are actually removed from cellular memory, the releases are permanent. Between 5 and 8 sessions are sufficient to resolve the average problem. The work is painless and is performed on fully clothed clients.
The Horstmann Technique is made up of several specialized "release" components:
The Ileosacral Release heals the old issues held in the hips and pelvis. It also heals injuries/dysfunction of the musculoskeletal system and the organs below the diaphram. There are seven energy points available on each side of the pelvic area, and the legs are rocked as these points are held lightly. It is effective for low back pain; hip, knee, ankle, and foot pain; digestive problems; reproductive issues; releasing old unresolved issues; and more.
The Scapular Release heals the upper back and shoulder girdle, releasing knotted muscles, improving posture and arm function, and releaving upeer back pain. It involves moving the shoulder blade to relax and rebalance the muscles.
The Arm and Shoulder Release heals current stresses and the musculoskeletal system and organs above the diaphragm. There are seven energy points available on each shoulder area. Each point is held lightly while the arm is moved through its comfortable range of motion. It is effective for frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome.
The Foot Release is a simple, effective way to resolve foot problems and to release residual problems through the reflexes in the feet.
The Sciatic Release relieves the pain of sciatica at is source- tension in the muscles of the buttocks. Three points are held while the legs are gently rotated.
The Self-Sabotage Release helps us persue our goals without sabotaging them. According to Chinese Philosophy, we hold our oldest issues/stresses/traumas in our pelvic region. These old experiences and beliefs cause self-sabotage, which means that we're working against ourselves. A person is sabotaging him/herself when honest efforts in self-improvement are made, only to have those attempts backfire or come to nothing. The Self-Sabotage Release involves holding a series of thrree energy points on each buttock while gently bending and straightening the knee. This releases cellular memory of the old experiences, allowing conscious decisions to be carried out more easily. The Horstmann Technique was developed in Australia by Patricia(Trish) Trowbridge (formerly Trish Horstmann), a massage therapist and herbalist. Not long after a near-death experience in 1991, she saw the technique in a dream. She practiced it on friends and had them use it on her. She found it to be a powerful catalyst for change. She then used it on her clients and found it more effective than other healing techniques. She developed a school and began teaching it in Australia, New Zealand, and eventually in Boulder, Colorado. Sherri studied under Trish in Boulder for approximately two years.
Reiki(UsuiShikiRyoho Method) This is an ancient healing technique, possibly dating from the 600s BCE. It was rediscovered by Kikao Usui of Japan in the mid 1800s, and brought by way of Hawaii to the US in the mid-1900s. In Reiki< the practioner holds her hands on or over the client's body focusing energy to the deired location(s). Reiki is particularly useful for stress reduction, infections, inflammation, and the healinf of wounds and fractures. Sherri has been using energy healing techniques for 18 years.
Myofascial Release This method works in muscles and connective tissue. It is particularly useful for long-standing tension and for relieving the pulling effects of adhesions and scars. It is performed by holding the injured part in a comfortable position for about 10 minutes. Because all the connective tissue in the body is made from only one sheet, this technique relieves not only pain in the location of the injury, but also in other, unpredictable locations. For example, hedaches are commonly caused by scars elsewhere in the body. Sherri learned this technique as part of her occupational therapy practice.
